Bird-watching training and Water bird census
Indawgyi Lake, Kachin State, 8 to 10 February 2012
The Myanmar Conservation and Development Program is supporting
wildlife conservation,
environmental awareness and civil society capacity building in the
Indawgyi Lake area. One activity
for 2012 is a joint training and waterbird count on Indawgyi Lake,
which is timed to coincide with the
Asian Waterbird Census (www.wetlands.org).
We would to invite you to join us. Unfortunately we cannot cover all
your cost for participation but
we can provide local travel, food and basic accommodation during the
event. Detail are provided in
below. We look forwards your participation in this important community
initiative.

Bird Census in the lake and Indaw Chaung
(Two or three groups will be divided to do census at south and north of
the Lake, and Indaw Chaung at the same time.)

1. Vulture Restaurant: at Indaw Chaung
2. Stork counting: back of Lonton village
3. Forest bird: eastern bank of the lake, probably in north of Manakhaw
(Three groups will be divided.)

11-Feb-12 Depart from Lonton
We will provide:
1. Transportation between Hopin and Lonton village on 7 February and
on 11 February 2012
and during the training.
2. Basic accommodation in Lonton village. Participants need to bring
their own sleeping bag.
3. Food during the training.
